Philip graduated from RMIT University in industrial design. He then focused on the democratization of additive manufacturing by having started the first open-source 3D printing service in Melbourne. Here he is offering 3D printing services from start to finish, creating original digital design files, helping repair client files, and providing cost-effective 3D printing solutions using technologies such as FDM, SLA, SLS, and investment casting.
Philip also wrote a syllabus on '3D Printing for Creatives' which he taught at RMIT's industrial design. He has since worked at the Advanced Manufacturing Precinct at RMIT as an additive manufacturing technical officer. He can offer a decade of additive manufacturing experience with daily exposure to both polymer and metal technologies. He can manage the print process from start to finish and can provide real-world advice based on experience in regard to file preparation, material, and process selection.
